FAQS

There are questions that customers often ask…

Q. Is it worth getting my computer fixed, should I just buy a new one?

With the cost of new PCs and Laptops now so affordable we understand your dilemma.  For this reason we offer a diagnostic service ( $24.75 ) after which we will tell you what is wrong with your machine and how much it is going to  cost to repair. We only charge this fee if you decide not to proceed with the repair of your computer – and we do ask you to bring your machine to our workshop in Taree for this service.

If the repair involves replacing a number of major component parts and you have had your computer for some years whether to repair or replace is a very valid question.  We have, and do advise customers if replacement a solution, remembering then that your files will need to be transferred and possibly software re-installed and you may need to learn a new operating system.  Should you choose, we can load all your files and software onto your new machine for you.  We can also advise you on your new purchase or alternatively we are able to build you a new PC to specifically match your needs – at an affordable price using quality components.

Q. How much will it cost to get my computer fixed?

We charge an affordable hourly repair fee of $110 with current 10% discount, so you only need to pay $99 an hour.  Parts if needed are extra.  We do not charge additional rates for after hours or weekend jobs.  We never charge customers over three hours labour for jobs undertaken in our workshop, no matter how long the repair takes.  Most PC, Laptop or Mac repairs take between half hour to two hours.

Q. How much does it cost to find out what is wrong with my computer?

We charge $24.75 to diagnose the problem with your machine – you are not charged this fee if you decide to go ahead with the repair job.

Q. Can I bring my computer to you?  Where is your workshop?

Yes, you are welcome to bring your troublesome computer into us, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.  We would appreciate if you could give us a call before you come so that we are prepared to meet you – and we may request you bring some peripherals, depending upon the repair job.  We have found that most of our customers prefer to drop-off their computers at our workshop rather than have a technician come to their home.  For those who work full-time and can’t get to us during our regular office hours, please call and we will make sure we are available to accommodate you.

We are located at 24 Little Wynter Street, Taree, just 2 minutes drive from Manning Base Hoispital.  It is clearly signed.

Q. Do I have to take the computer to your workshop?

No, we have a mobile service and can come to you, your home or your office. If you are within our mobile service area, we do not charge a call out fee, nor do we charge for the time taken to get to and from your home/office from our workshop in Taree.  We have found, however that most of our residential customers prefer to leave their computers with us in our workshop as repairs (particularly malware removal, data retrieval and computer re-installations) can be a time-consuming job which tie you to the house for the time that the work requires.  Some jobs are also cheaper if done in our workshop.  However obviously some jobs such as internet connection problems often require a home visit.
